ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) is a character-encoding scheme used to convert human readable characters into a code that a computer can understand. The complete ASCII Character Set includes 0-255 unique characters - 256 in total. We distinguish different types of symbologies and each symbology has a unique way of encoding data characters. To read barcodes we use scanners.
